Integration of proper forest management practices as means for forest fire prevention and conservation of ecosystems in South Lebanon.

 

Objective:

To conserve and rehabilitate the forests in South Lebanon damaged by the July 2006 war through forest fire management

 

Achievements:

  • An appropriate biomass management plan to reduce the risk of forest fires and to restore vulnerable and degrading forests is developed and implemented     
  • MAP for cultivation ‎is introduced as a means ‎of fire prevention ‎                    
  • Public awareness about forests’ eco-‎logical and economic values is raised
